Hi! I think your blogs are awesome! Which eras do you reenact? Do you think you could post some pics of you reenacting in all your lovely clothes? I’d love to see some! You are gorgeous! -Lisa

Thank you! I currently reenact the Middle Ages (late 1300s/early 1400s is my specialty) and the American Civil War (I’m a reb), though I make costumes for other eras such as the Regency period. Though I don’t have many pictures at all of me DURING a reenactment, I’ll put up the few that I do possess :) I’m so pleased that you’re interested. And oh, I’m terribly flattered. You are too kind!

What’s on your mind?

I’m a currently making a wool robe a’langlais. Ideally, I want to bind the hem with red wool tape like some of the women did for their petticoats during the late 18th century. Have you seen any documentation for something like that?

Unfortunately, though I’ve seen plenty of stays and petticoats that are bound, I’ve never seen an example of a gown with binding. But please send photos when you’ve finished! I’d love to see the finished product :D

Hi hello, Hope you don’t mind but I was intending to use one of the images on your blog for a presentation. I was curious however from which museum collection the dresses originated? It is about the blue and purple 1865 silk dresses on page 7.
