heinrichagrippa asked: I have a question, and I hope you can answer because I'm pulling my hair out trying to find the name of a certain hat from the late 15th/early 16 centuries. I can't link anything in an ask, but if you Google image search Heinrich Agrippa there are tons of pictures of him wearing a flat cap with a strap under the chin. I've looked up fashion from that time period on Wikipedia and other sites but can't find a thing. (Love the blog, by the way!)

My medieval pro friend thinks that it is a flat cap layered on top of a coif, and I agree!
